Demand for skilled workers and professionals in the trades continues to grow. So as part of the BC Skills for Jobs Blueprint, 3 post-secondary schools on Vancouver Island will receive close to one million dollars to purchase new trades training equipment.

Goat News spoke with Minister of Advanced Education Andrew Wilkinson. He explains the importance of the blueprint.

North Island College is one of 3 post-secondary institutions receiving funding from the province to pick up new gear. Goat News caught up with School President John Bowman, who says trades training is booming at NIC and that the institution is very excited about the provincial investment.

The other schools receiving funding and upgrading their equipment are Camosun College and Vancouver Island University.
