Fundraising campaign set up for Judd family after house fire

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – The Judd family lost their home to a fire on Tuesday night.

Fortunately, none of the family members were injured in the fire. Their neighbour also managed to escape.

Campbell River Fire Rescue crews managed to contain the fire to the Judds’ house, even though when they arrived at the scene, the whole house was already engulfed in flames.

A family friend, Dannica Hamling, set up a GoFundMe page to help raise funds for the family. She said in a written statement that she wanted to help them as they may be lost for a little while.

Hamling said she set up the page as it may be the easiest way for the community to help them.

The family is still recovering from the incident.

Fire chief Thomas Doherty has said that the cause of the fire is still unknown, but his crew is focusing their investigation around the carport of the home.
