RCMP investigating after woman grabbed in Courtenay park 

COURTENAY, B.C. – Comox Valley RCMP are searching for a suspect, after a young woman was grabbed in a Courtenay park early Thursday morning.

The incident happened at roughly 7:45 a.m. while the 21-year-old victim was walking through Bill Moore Park on Kilpatrick Avenue.

The suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her arm. The woman turned around and kicked the man who fell down before she fled.

The man is described as:

  • Caucasian,
  • roughly 5’9” tall with a thin build, and
  •  approximately 40 years old.

He had a disheveled appearance, with curly brown hair, possibly longer at the back.
At the time of the incident he was wearing a faded red running jacket with a horizontal reflective stripe on the back, and black jeans that were ripped at the knees.
