COURTENAY, B.C- The Boomers Legacy Ride kicked off in Comox Saturday.
Riders left the Courtenay Civic Cemetery shortly before 9:00 a.m.
They will be travelling down to Nanaimo today, and returning to 19 Wing Comox Sunday morning.
On their way back, the group will meet up with another set of riders coming from Port Alberni.
Boomer’s Legacy is named after Corporal Andrew “Boomer” Eykelenboom, a dedicated soldier and a Canadian Armed Forces medic killed by a suicide bomber on August 11, 2006.
His death helped create Boomer’s Legacy to help men and women in uniform make a positive difference in the lives of others. Andrew’s humanitarian spirit lives on through Boomer’s Legacy, committed to “Helping our Troops Help Others”.
