COMOX, B.C- 19 Wing Comox is reminding residents explosive training takes place all year round, and is the source of loud noises in the area.
After reports of loud explosions and bangs have been heard near 19 Wing, it has sent out a release reminding those living in the area that it is an active training base.
“19 Wing, Comox would like to remind residents and visitors that the EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) range at CFB Comox is in operation throughout the year, for training normally on weekdays between 8 am and 5 pm and as required for operations.”
“While noises from the controlled detonations may be observed in the local area, these activities are routine and there is no need to report them to 19 Wing or local emergency services.”
