Community grants are being made available to charities and non-profits in the Comox Valley.
Starting Aug. 1, local groups can apply for Community Enrichment and Professional Development Grants.
The grants are from the Comox Valley Community Foundation (CVCF).
Applications will be accepted until Sept. 27.
To assist organizations in preparing their applications, two workshops will be held:
- Thursday, Aug. 8, 3:30 – 4:30pm, Comox Community Centre (1855 Noel Avenue)
- Monday, Aug. 19, 3:30 – 4:30pm, Courtenay Museum (207 – 4th Street)
Community Enrichment Grants go to projects and programs that are innovative and address demonstrated need in the Comox Valley.
Professional Development Grants help local non-profits access training and professional growth opportunities for staff and volunteers.
Complete details on both granting opportunities including criteria and eligibility requirements are available on the CVCF website .
The Community Foundation is also launching a grants management software system designed to streamline the grants process.
The new CVCF grants portal will allow applicants to access a personalized dashboard from which they may apply for grants, receive status updates, and complete necessary follow up.
An overview of the new system will be included in CVCF workshops.
For those unable to attend a workshop, a user guide will be available on the CVCF website.
