It’s official, MARS, or the Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society has secured a 10.4 acre piece of property for a new home.
Spokesperson Maj Birch says generous valley resident Michele Woodrew came through with 300-thousand dollars.
The new home for MARS is on the Old Island Highway in Merville, at Williams Beach Road.
It is going to be a few years before the new facility is up and running as fundraising continues.
