Mountain bikes stolen from Courtenay Elementary School

A bunch of bikes have been taken from Courtenay Elementary School.

The MyComoxValleyNow.com newsroom received the tip Sunday afternoon, that 12 mountain bikes had been stolen.

The message said students use them to learn how to ride and to learn about the community.

SD 71 representative Mary Lee says the district is aware of the situation and is working closely with the RCMP to get the bikes back.

“We are aware of the fact that many individuals in our local community are sharing information about the incident on social media in order to spread the word. We are grateful many individuals want to help in hopes that someone might have more information about the break-in at Courtenay Elementary on Sunday,” Lee said.

“If anyone has any information, please contact the RCMP.”

The bikes are described as Norco mountain bikes and are neon green, blue and yellow.

If you have any information on the stolen bikes, call the Comox Valley RCMP at (250) 338-1321.
