Free tax clinics open in the Comox Valley

Do you need help with your tax return?

If you have a modest income and a simple tax situation, volunteers may be able to complete your tax return for you.

Through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP), the Comox Valley Lions Club is hosting free tax preparation clinics.

With help from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), volunteers prepare income tax and benefit returns for eligible individuals.

CRA Local CVITP Coordinator Elisabeth Martin says the program relies on the commitment of community organizations and their volunteers.

“Helping members of your community prepare and file their tax returns ensures these individuals receive the benefits and credits they’re entitled to without interruptions.”

You’re asked to bring all tax slips and forms with you.

Walk-in clinics are at the Lions Club every Tuesday from 1pm until 3:30pm.

They’re running until the end of April.
