Goose Spit Park part of more COVID-19 closures

More recreation areas in the Comox Valley are closing in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some of those include the Martin Park lacrosse and pickleball courts, the Lewis Park tennis courts, and the outdoor skate park in Courtenay.

The pickleball courts and the outdoor fitness circuit at Anderton Park as well as the tennis courts at the Comox Community Centre will be closed.

Cumberland is also closing some of its outdoor parks.

The No. 6 Mine Heritage Park, Lake Park, the off-leash dog area, and the tennis courts at Village Park will all be closed moving forward.

The Comox Valley Regional District is shutting down some of its highly used areas as well.

These include the Pinecrest Park bike park, Goose Spit Park stairs, and the outdoor cooking shelters at Joe Walker Park and the Royston Seaside Trail.

The CVRD also says its postponing the beach fire program for Goose Spit Park, Little River, and Joe Walker Park.
