Two very different stories came out of the weekend negotations between the BC Teacher’s Federation and the Provincial Government.

One the one hand, Minister of Education Peter Fassbender says, he thought the talks were productive, and there was a ’50/50 chance’ a full-scale strike could be averted.

However, BCTF President Jim Iker sung quite a different tune, as he addressed media in a press conference.

Iker added that a full-scale strike is ‘imminent’, unless a deal can be hammered out.

Kids were off school today for a ‘study session day’, while Tuesday would mark the first day of full strike action.
