Comox Valley RCMP detachment opening for limited services
RCMP Sign. (Vista Radio Stock Image)
Starting tomorrow, you will be able to access some of the services at the Comox Valley RCMP Detachment but the process will look a little different.
The RCMP says the office front door will remain locked and Criminal Record Checks and Fingerprints will be done by appointment only, one person at a time.
Residents can call ahead to get a Police Information Check form either emailed to them, or you can stop by the detachment during office hours to get a blank form to take home.
The RCMP says no one will be able to fill out the form inside the detachment and once the form is complete, you have two pieces of government identification and payment, you can email or call to get an appointment for processing.
If you are doing a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check, the Comox Valley RCMP says you need to bring a face mask and $25 in cash in case they need to fingerprint you.
The detachment asks that when you show up for your appointment, you should call the non-emergency number to let them know you have arrived.
The Comox Valley RCMP is asking the public to be patient with staff as this is new for everyone involved. You can call the detachment at its non-emergency line (250-338-1321) or email CVFC@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
