Pilot walks away from Texada plane crash

Looks like the small Cessna 172 plane is a complete write off, but amazingly the pilot came out more or less unscathed, with a visit to Powell River Hospital after his plane crashed on Texada Island on Sunday.

Powell River RCMP Constable Tim kenning says the engine cut out while the aircraft was doing some aerial land surveying.

Constable Kenning says the pilot suffered non life threatening injuries and received medical attention, adding he is extremely lucky to be alive today. Kenning says drugs or alcohol are not factors in the crash and the investigation is ongoing into the incident, which happened at about 2:30 on Sunday afternoon.
