Comox Valley Community Foundation announces fourth round of COVID-19 grants

The Comox Valley Community Foundation is further assisting with the community’s response to COVID-19.

It recently handed out an additional $21,095 in grants to four local organizations.

CVCF launched its COVID-19 Emergency Response Grants program at the onset of the pandemic, and the grants are intended to offer resources for the community where needed.

The program has a focus on providing access to food, shelter, supplies and care for the community’s most vulnerable.

“This latest round of funding brings CVCF’s investment in our community’s COVID-19 response to over $350,000,” said CVCF president Matt Beckett.

He says the foundation is very pleased to have been able to support local charities and not-for-profit organizations, “…as they transitioned the delivery of their programs and services in response to the pandemic and its impact on our most vulnerable neighbours.”

Recipients of the $21,095 include:

  • Cumberland Community Schools Society – $4,345
  • Dawn to Dawn: Action of Homelessness Society – $10,000
  • Northgate Foursquare Church – $3,000
  • LUSH Valley Food Action Society – $3,750
