As part of Courtenay’s ongoing Asset Management program, some inspections are coming for the city’s sewer pipes this week.

The city says various locations southwest of Ryan Road and Lerwick Road will be worked on by crews.

The inspections are done to grade the condition of the underground sanitary and drainage pipes to help prioritize what needs to be replaced, and when.

Courtenay says although every reasonable effort will be made to minimize traffic congestion, you still might see some minor delays throughout the week.

While crews are working in those areas, the road might be reduced to a single lane in both directions.

Drivers are asked to be patient, slow down, and obey all traffic control personnel.
