Courtenay youth centre ready to scare with new Halloween video

Get ready to be spooked.

The Comox Valley’s favourite “Halloween Spooktacular” returns this year in a new COVID-friendly experience.

Organizers at The LINC Youth Centre in Courtenay warn that you’ll have your “socks scared off” watching the new video, “Cabin in the Woods,” presented by its Ghoul School.

It’s set to premiere on October 28th at 8:00pm on The LINC’s Facebook page.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the project will replace the haunted house that usually runs every October.

This year’s Ghoul School participants have been “dead-icated” over the past month putting together a script, preparing sets, and filming.

Youth worker Tia Botta returned this year alongside UVic practicum student Mellissa to help with the video.

“Although this project is different from previous years, the youth involved were excited to make this Halloween video and keep the Ghoul School tradition alive,” Botta says.

She adds that the video is something that has staying power, so people can watch it year after year.
