Courtenay Recreation cancels all weekend classes

Courtenay Recreation is cancelling all classes this weekend as the city follows new province-wide COVID restrictions.

This will impact classes from today to Monday.

Provincial health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, issued new province-wide restrictions on social interactions and travel yesterday, including new restrictions on athletic activities.

The Wellness Centre remains available for pre-registered drop-ins.

The city says more information will be provided as details are finalized. Participants will be notified directly regarding program cancellations and credits.

The city is also reminding everyone that masks must be worn in public indoor settings.

City facilities remain closed to drop-in access due to COVID-19.

City staff are providing assistance by phone and email, and as many business operations as possible are continuing under the circumstances.
