Courtenay Fire Chief Don Bardonnex says his fire department crews were called out in the storm, but fortunately there were no major incidents, and nobody was injured.

BC Hydro crews expect to have power restored to all areas by noon, or very early afternoon, about 2200 homes are still without power, mainly in areas south of Courtenay, including the Royston area, and further south to Buckley Bay.
