The Comox Valley School District has elected a new trustee to the Board of Education.
The election took place Saturday and was won by Cristi May.
May will be replacing former trustee and board chair Ian Hargreaves, who stepped down in early September.
The district did not release the specific number of votes for each of the six candidates, but May’s swearing-in ceremony is set for the new year .

She will serve out the remaining term that ends in 2022.
