The wheels keep turning for a local cycling team devoted to raising funds for the Comox Valley Hospice Society.

The Cyclepaths are gearing up for this summer’s Cycle of Life Tour for hospice care and in the meantime, their fundraising efforts are in full swing.

“I like to call us an enthusiastic charity cycling team,” team captain Raida Bolton said. “We take part in the Cycle of Life Tour and we actually raise funds for the Comox Valley Hospice Society, so we’re passionate about that.”

All of the funds raised in the Comox Valley stays in the valley.

The Cyclepaths are hosting a COVID-safe, Island Health-approved bottle drive-thru at the Driftwood Mall Canadian Tire parking lot on Saturday from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

Bolton says you don’t even have to get out of your car to donate.

“All you need to do is drive through our set-up drive-thru lane, you don’t even have to get out of your car,” she said. “We’ll unload for you, all COVID-friendly masks and gloves, and get you on your way.”

If you can’t make it to Saturday’s fundraiser, you can still help out.

“There’s actually a couple of ways,” Raida said. “You can go to comoxhospice.com, we have a page on their website, and you can go there… and cycleoflifetour.ca. And not just bottles, we can take donations at the drive-thru, too.”
