A school in the Comox Valley is reporting a COVID-19 exposure that lasted over 10 days.

Island Health added Comox’s Highland Secondary School to its exposure list today.

The health authority is calling the case or cases a cluster, as exposures were reported between May 3rd and May 7th, as well as May 10th to May 17th.

Island Health says if you have not been contacted by public health, then your child did not have a high-risk exposure, and they should continue to attend school… as long as they’re  not experiencing any symptoms.

Parents wondering when their kids can get vaccines should know that Health Canada has approved the use of the Pfizer vaccine for youth aged 12 to 17 and the province says it plans to expand the COVID-19 Immunization Plan to include this age group.
