Comox Valley moving to Stage 2 Water Restrictions this Friday

The Comox Valley Water System is moving to Stage 2 Water Restrictions, to coincide with the planned water flow reduction in the Puntledge River.

According to the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD), Stage 2 restrictions roll out this Friday, July 23rd. It applies to the Town of Comox, the City of Courtenay, and the entire Comox Valley Water Local Service Area.

Under Stage 2 Water Restrictions, watering days are:

  • Tuesdays and Saturdays for even-numbered addresses from 6-8 am and 8-10 pm
  • Wednesdays and Sundays for odd-numbered addresses from 6-8 am and 8-10 pm

Locals are asked to keep in mind that NO sprinklers are permitted for lawn or garden watering on Mondays, Thursdays, or Fridays.

When BC Hydro reduces flow in the Puntledge River, the CVRD says a higher level of water restrictions for the water system is automatically triggered. With this in mind, the district says it’ll work closely with BC Hydro to monitor the situation, updating residents as needed. More details can be found here.
