Comox and Courtenay make top 10 list of most economically resilient communities in B.C.

Two communities in the Comox Valley have made BCBusiness magazine’s top 10 list this year of the most economically resilient cities in the province.

Comox placed third and Courtenay was 10th on the list.

The criteria includes areas of economic resilience including employment and household finances.

“We’re really proud of our community,” said Courtenay Mayor Bob Wells. “It’s a great opportunity to be on this list. We know that we have the opportunity to improve in the coming years. All levels of our government work really well together. We support each other.”

Communities were also chosen based on rental vacancy rates, social and environmental resilience and economic diversity.

Langford took the top spot for the second year in a row.
