Major impact from low river flows expected for summer fisheries

Record dry conditions in Comox Valley watersheds, including numerous streams and rivers throughout the region, are expected to take a major toll on various summer season fisheries. That assessment now from Jack Minard, President of the Tsolum River Restoration Society.

Minard says they have experienced these extremely dry summer conditions a few times in the past.

Minard says the impacts from record dry summer conditions are somewhat alleviated on the Puntledge River, where BC Hydro has some ability to manage flows from the Comox Lake Reservoir.
