Sections of the Courtenay Riverway will temporarily close while upgrades are done to the pedestrian bridge.
The City of Courtenay says the waterfront section of the Riverway south of 31st Street in front of Crystal shores will be fully closed for a week starting Aug 5.
Closures of the inland gravel trail behind Crystal Shores between 31st and Anfield Road will be closed daily starting Aug. 8 between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The city says both sections are expected to reopen on Friday, August 12.

They ask trail users to take a different route and pedestrians are asked to follow the signage and direction of the work crews.
