Stage 2 water restrictions coming into effect next week

Check your address to see when you will be able to water your lawn next week.

Stage 2 water restrictions are coming into effect on Tuesday. The Comox Valley Regional District says the restrictions apply to the Town of Comox, City of Courtenay, and the Comox Valley Water Local Service Area.

The restrictions align with BC Hydro’s planned water flow reduction in the Puntledge River.

Watering is restricted to the following days based on your address:

  • Tuesday and Saturday for even-numbered addresses from 6-8 a.m. and 8-10 p.m.
  • Wednesday and Sunday for odd-numbered addresses from 6-8 a.m. and 8-10 p.m.

No sprinklers are permitted for lawn or garden watering on Monday, Thursday or Friday, according to the CVRD.

The CVRD adds water restrictions are directly tied to water storage in the reservoir and Puntledge River flow. When BC Hydro reduces flow in the Puntledge River, a higher level of water restriction is automatically triggered.
