RCMP cracking down on distracted driving this month

If you’re thinking of using your cell phone while you’re behind the wheel, think again, as the Comox Valley RCMP warn they’ll be paying close attention to distracted drivers during the month of July.

Constable Don Sinclair says, the problem is rampant, and that deaths caused by distracted driving are now starting to rival those caused by impaired driving. He adds, it’s just not worth it.

Sinclair says you can expect to see road blocks, among other things during the campaign this month.

Keep in mind, a distracted driving ticket will run you $167.
