The MP for the North Island-Powell River is looking to get government focused on seniors issues.

NDP MP Rachel Blaney has been named the party's critic for seniors issues.

Blaney says rising costs are putting seniors at risk across the country, including here in her riding.

Blaney says one solution would be a national seniors strategy to bring different stakeholder groups together to ensure seniors are supported and protected as they enter their later years.
