A fatal accident is under investigation south of Courtenay near the Trent River bridge, the MVA involved a pickup truck and a semi, RCMP confirm the highway is closed in both directions between Courtenay and Buckley Bay right now as investigators probe the accident. Drivers should take the Old Island Highway instead.
