North Island College employee wins international education leadership award

The international education program at North Island College (NIC) has earned an honour.

Executive Director of International Education Mark Herringer received the International Education Award from the British Columbia Council for International Education (BCCIE).

Herringer developed the implementation of NIC’s indigenizing international education plan called ‘Journeying Together’, as well as global engagement initiatives.

Herringer said that it’s the people he’s met along the way that make this award so special to him.

“This award is recognition of the privilege I had had over the years to work with teams and colleagues who have helped me to understand how to do international education differently.”

The award ceremony was held in Vancouver on June 25 and held with BC International Education Week.

The BCCIE International Education Awards celebrates the industry and helps support future growth and development by recognizing achievements.
