Earthquake shakes up Southern Gulf Islands 

A small earthquake was recorded off the coast of Vancouver Island yesterday, but experts are saying no damage was caused. 

The 1.9 quake was recorded at 6:30 p.m. yesterday near Salt Spring Island, in the Cowichan Valley Regional District at a depth of 7.3 kilometres. 

According to the US Geological Survey, there was only 1 report of very weak shaking, and no aftershocks are expected.
