Electoral Area C business survey launched by Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce

Select businesses in the Comox Valley now have a way to provide input on some of the challenges they are facing.

The Rural Business Initiative was launched on August 16 by the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce and is a survey to assess the current business conditions in Comox Valley Area C ranging from north of Courtenay to Oyster River.

Executive Director of the Chamber Tracey Clarke said they don’t have a lot of recent data from the area and want to find out what goes well and what needs improvement for those businesses.

“We know that there are some challenges to doing business at all times and we know there are some specific challenges in that region.”

The survey is being funded by the Province’s Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Project funds.

Businesses will be approached by email and in-person to inform them of the survey and will be entered to win gift cards or a chamber membership for a year.

The Chamber will be on site at the Comox Valley Exhibition on August 24, and the Gumboot Market on August 25 to answer questions and provide input on the survey.

Following the Provincial Election in October, a new survey will be released in Courtenay and Comox in collaboration with local governments.

The survey will be live until September 16.
