The film industry on Vancouver Island is growing, but one element that’s missing is a local film crew.
Joan Miller is the Film Commissioner for Vancouver Island North.
She says they’re welcoming more production companies from south of the border, but they’re like to be able to offer more than just attractive locations.
Miller says finding the time to fully train a film crew is difficult, because most visiting productions don’t last long enough.
She says they’re working on lining up a slate of productions, to create that much-needed training opportunity.
