Pooch-A-Poolooza Dog Swim canceled this year due to pool issue

Your dogs will have to wait another year as the Pooch-A-Poolooza Dog Swim is officially canceled.

That comes from the City of Courtenay, announcing the event is canceled because of an unforeseen issue found at the Courtenay Outdoor Pool Friday afternoon.

With this issue needing cleaning and disinfecting, they say the pool won’t be ready in time for the event.

The swim was scheduled to run today from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The city adds they sincerely apologize to all of the dogs and owners looking forward to the event, with hopes it will run in 2025.

They thank you for your understanding.
