One person dead following early morning house fire Wednesday

Comox Valley RCMP and Comox Fire Rescue are investigating an early morning house fire on Wednesday, September 4 that’s left one man dead. 

Crews were called to a home along Anderton Road in Comox around 5:30 a.m. for a structure fire. 

Once flames were extinguished, crews entered the residence to find one man was inside at the time of the fire and passed away. 

Cst. Monika Terragni said the Major Crime Unit, and Integrated Forensic Identification Section are investigating, while the BC Coroners Service is conducting their own investigation. 

“We are saddened by this event and are committed to uncovering the facts surrounding this fire.” 

Support is being offered to those affected by the incident by the Comox Valley RCMP Victim Services. 

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP.
