Incumbent Ronna-Rae was elected as the MLA for Courtenay-Comox in 2017 and 2020 and is seeking her third term in office. She served as a Courtenay city councillor for nine years. Her bio says she has strong connections to the community and has been a dedicated advocate for families, seniors and the environment. Arzeena Hamir is an organic farmer in the Comox Valley and Program Manager for Agricultural Climate Solutions with the Investment Agriculture Foundation of BC. She has been a Director for Area B and Vice Chair on the Board of the Comox Valley Regional District. Her bio says she an agronomist focused on the sustainability and well-being of communities, and determined to address critical issues such as healthcare, affordable housing, and real climate action.

Independent candidate John Hedican

John Hedican lives in the Comox Valley. He is a former resident of the North Island and operated two family owned companies: TJM Contracting, a logging road construction company based out of North Island, and C&N Tool Rentals in Comox. Two family members have been lost to toxic drugs and he says the existing political parties fail to acknowledge the reality of these deaths, the harm and wasted tax dollars of the Federal Drug Policy. He calls for a legal, government regulated system like our existing system for alcohol and marijuana to save users lives.
