Village of Cumberland to announce new councillor by Wednesday

With the by-election over, the Village of Cumberland will announce their new councillor later this week.

The by-election took place on Saturday, with the goal of voting for a new councillor after Jesse Ketler announced she was stepping down in June.

The village says the preliminary results are in, with Nick Ward in the lead at 535 votes.

Thea Cockerton has 169 votes, while Ken Barth only got 27 votes.

They add the official results will be revealed by Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
