Comox Fire Rescue launches recruitment campaign

The Comox Fire Department is looking to replenish their ranks with some new paid on call members to fill recent vacancies.

Comox Fire Chief Gord Schreiner says this opportunity is open to both males and females between the ages of 18 and 50.

Schreiner says many fire departments in the region struggle to retain firefighters, who tend to move on to other jobs and communities.

Schreiner says applicants must be physically fit and available to attend Tuesday evening training sessions on a regular basis.

For questions or if interested in applying drop by the fire station to pick up an application or contact Chief Gord Schreiner or Asst. Chief Rick Shelton at 339-2432 or email [email protected]
