Cumberland’s newest councilor to be sworn in Monday

Cumberland’s newest councilor will officially be sworn in on Monday.

The village announced that Nick Ward will take his official oath of office after being elected as councilor in the September 21 by-election.

Nick was elected after getting 535 votes from the community, beating other candidates Thea Cockerton who got 169 votes, and Ken Barth who got 27.

The official swearing-in will be part of Monday’s Committee of the Whole Budget meeting, set to start at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at 2675 Dunsmuir Avenue.
