Fire Chief says business as usual for Comox Fire Training Centre

The Comox Live Fire Training Centre is not about to close up shop, with the City of Courtenay moving forward in building their own fire training venue–that from Comox Fire Chief Gord Schreiner who says the facility has been very well received, and there are no plans to shut it down, or scale back any training operations.

Schreiner says the Comox Valley’s firefighter training needs are already well handled with the Comox training facility, for both individual and group scenarios.

Meanwhile Courtenay Councillor Jon Ambler is the chair of the select committee handling the new east Courtenay firehall, and fire training ground projects.

Courtenay City Council recently voted in favour of moving forward on the new firehall and training ground.
