CVRD offers up free swim lessons

The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) is offering free swim lessons at the CVRD’s sports centre August 24 to August 27, 2015 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.

The sessions are offered at no charge for the four days, with all swim levels scheduled. Classes are a half hour long and are suited for everyone from toddlers to older adults.

“The free swim lessons will be taught by Red Cross water safety instructor candidates who wish to gain teaching experience, and the lessons are supervised by certified instructor trainers and CVRD’s aquatic staff,” said CVRD’s manager of recreation services, Jennifer Zbinden. “This is a great opportunity to get into the water and have fun learning swimming and water safety skills.”

Register soon as space is limited and attendance to all four classes is required. Registration can be done in person at the CVRD’s sports centre during regular business hours or over the phone at 334-9622 ext. 2.

The Comox Valley Regional District is a federation of three electoral areas and three municipalities providing sustainable services for residents and visitors to the area. The members of the regional district work collaboratively on services for the benefit of the diverse urban and rural areas of the Comox Valley.
