City to call residents for telephone survey starting Monday

Be ready to get a call from the City of Courtenay, as staff are putting together a telephone survey.

Called Your Courtenay, Your Voice, it’s a resident telephone survey where you’ll randomly be called to give thoughts on the City’s services, community priorities, and overall quality of life.

The City says the goal of this survey is to not only shape strategic priorities, but to also highlight key issues, assess awareness of local programs, and support ongoing improvement within Courtenay.

Mayor Bob Wells says these surveys are important in shaping Courtenay’s future.

“Conducting this survey will give us a clearer picture of our residents’ changing needs and preferences,” said Well.

“These insights are really crucial to align City services with what our community truly values.”

Director of Corporate Services for the City Kate O’Connell says this survey could improve their decision-making processes to reflect the expectations of the community.

After the results are collected, city staff will present them to council early next year, with the survey to be used annually until 2027 to build a five-year dataset. After the dataset is made, this survey will be used every two years starting in 2029.

Those aged 18 and older will be called for this survey between November 4 and November 17.
