Missing man in the Comox Valley found deceased near Cook Creek

The search for a missing 76-year-old man has come to a tragic end.

Wayne Jardine was believed to be reported missing on Sunday, December 8, with family having last heard from him over the phone the following day where he sounded disoriented.

Comox Valley Search and Rescue and RCMP searched all of yesterday looking for Jardine, finding his vehicle near Cook Creek and Highway 19.

Members converged on the area, before sadly finding him deceased according to a family member’s Facebook post.

The Facebook post said their heart breaks and it’s “hard to breathe”, thanking everyone for searching.
