City launches budget simulator for 2025

You can shape Courtenay’s budget in an online simulator ahead of 2025.

The City has launched the Balancing Act budget simulator, a tool that will give residents a chance to shape the 2025 financial plan, put your input on revenue and expense service categories, and share your budget choices with the City.

Mayor Bob Wells says the tool is a chance for you to see how your choices would impact the budget.

“This tool is a really helpful, easy way for people to share their thoughts with the City,” said Wells.

“The simulator will walk you through various options and see how your choices impact the budget as a whole. In the process, we hope this helps people learn more about the budget planning process in a fun and accessible way.”

They say the tool’s goal is to get your feedback on the financial plan before it’s considered by council.

Simulator is open until January 15, and can be found here.
