SD 71 to open kindergarten registration this January

School District 71 says registration for the 2025/2026 school year will begin soon, offering a variety of program options to choose for your children.

The programs are Neighbourhood Schools, with registration open on January 21 at 6:00 p.m., early French Immersion, Montessori, and Indigenous K-1 Programs, with registration opening on January 14 at 6:00 p.m., and Navigate Compass Program, and Fine Arts eCademy. Registration for the latter opens at the beginning of February.

They say while most students will be accommodated for Neighbourhood schools, placement cannot be guaranteed, and it may require attending the nearest school to you with available space.

The district says the French Immersion, Montessori, and Indigenous programs take place in a variety of locations, including Ecole Robb Road, Ecole Puntledge Park, Queneesh Elementary, and Courtenay Elementary.

For the Navigate program, they say an open house will take place at the Tsolum Campus on January 31 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

They add that to be eligible, your child must be 5 years old by December 31 this year.
