CVRD to start 2025-2029 financial planning process next week

The financial planning process for the Comox Valley Regional District continues next week.

The district says the financial plan is updated every year outlining the requirements of each service for the next five years.

As part of the process, the district reviews all services, making budgets based on approved work plans, organizational priorities, and financial practices.

The proposed budget will be delivered to the district board on January 28, leading to multiple presentations.

Chief Financial Officer Lucy Wiwcharuk says these presentations run until February 12.

“We encourage questions, comments and feedback on the financial plans for all of our services,” said Wiwcharuk.

“Public feedback will be provided to CVRD Directors and responses will be given for each question received.”

They say your feedback will be used for the budget bylaw, as well as any changes or updates requested by the district.

While the bylaw will be presented in March, you have until February 28 to send feedback.
