Six egg brands recalled because of possible salmonella

Do not eat or buy certain egg brands as they might have salmonella.

On January 18, The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a recall for six egg brands across Canada, saying the eggs are possibly contaminated with salmonella.

The affected brands include Compliments, Foremost, Golden Valley Eggs, IGA, and Western Family, with the recall focusing on 12 eggs, 15 dozen, 18 eggs, 20 eggs, and 30 eggs products with best-before dates of February 22 and March 1 this year.

The agency says these egg products have been distributed in BC, Ontario, Manitoba, and possibly other provinces and territories.

While there haven’t been any reported illnesses from the products, they ask you to not buy, consume, use, sell, serve, or distribute them.

A food safety investigation is going on right now, with the products being removed from the marketplace.
