Student housing applications open for Comox Valley campus

College students can officially apply for student housing in the Comox Valley.

North Island College has announced that applications are open for new student housing set for their Comox Valley Campus. The goal is to not only give the students a place to live, but a chance for them to feel valued and connected.

Vice President of Students and Community Engagement Kathleen Kuhnert says the opening of these applications marks a milestone in improving student life.

“This achievement reflects nearly a decade of dedicated work, including extensive studies, consultations and collaborations with the K’ómoks First Nation, our students and our community partners,” said Kuhnert.

The applications come as part of an ongoing project, one that saw funding from the BC Government in 2022, and a blessing event with K’omoks First Nation in January 2023, with work starting later that year.

The college says the facility has nano, studio, quad, and family units, with rental rates ranging from $1,150 to $2,200 every month.

Along with utilities and high-speed WIFI, the housing also has pay for use laundry, free parking, and storage for bikes or outdoor equipment.

The housing is set to open this fall semester. For how to apply, click here.
