Heavy snowfall wreaks havoc on roads, RCMP 

Winter weather has hit the region hard, and RCMP says that it’s having a heavy impact on driving conditions. 

Road conditions across Vancouver Island, and the Sunshine Coast, have seen several accidents because of the weather conditions and RCMP reserve constable Gary O’Brien says these are the result of drivers not adjusting to conditions. 

“These are the result of motorists driving too fast for road conditions and not maintaining sufficient space between the vehicles ahead of them,” he says.  

He says if you must go out then leave ample time to arrive at your destination, but if you aren’t comfortable driving in snow don’t venture out.
