The City of Courtenay is seeking feedback to upgrade one of its existing playgrounds.
A survey is being conducted to provide input about a new and improved playground at Woodcote Park, with the original one having been installed more than 30 years ago.
Courtenay Mayor Bob Wells said public feedback will help shape the final playground design and encourage everyone to participate in the survey.
“Community parks and playgrounds are the heart of our neighbourhoods, bringing people of all ages together. An updated playground at Woodcote will bring new life to this popular park.”
The proposed designs include new structures developed for preschoolers and children aged five to 12, with rubber play surfacing in the main play areas for enhanced accessibility.
Two different designs have been developed, with potential upgrades to the basketball court and other park amenities being considered if the budget allows.
The final design will be selected later this spring, with construction expected to start this summer closing the park’s playground for two to three months.
The survey is live until April 28, with participants being entered into a random draw for a gift card to the Comox Valley Farmers’ Market.
